Ross Lucas

General Manager (New Zealand) at Robert Bird Group

Ross Lucas is the current General Manager (New Zealand) at Robert Bird Group. Prior to this, they worked as a project manager and design manager for large rail infrastructure and mega-development projects in the Middle East and India with Atkins from January 2008 to December 2010. Some of the key projects Ross worked on during their time at Atkins include the Port Rashid Redevelopment, Lusail Light Rail Transit, Kolkata Metro, and Jeddah East City Masterplan.

Before working at Atkins, Ross was the Design Team Leader for D&B Thames Water District Mains Renewal Contracts in London and Provinces with Morrison Utility Services from January 2007 to December 2007. During their time at Beca from January 2003 to December 2006, Ross started as an environmental engineer with Beca Infrastructure (Christchurch) before moving to the Water Team (Wellington). Some of the key projects Ross worked on during their time at Beca include the Almadale Water Treatment Plant, Strathallan Sewage Pump Station, Masterton WWTP, Oamaru Network Option Modelling, and Wellington and Auckland Airport infrastructure.

Ross has also worked as a Force Project Management Officer with the New Zealand Defence Force from January 2000 to December 2002.

Ross Lucas has a B.E (Hons) from the University of Canterbury, and an Officer Training certification from the New Zealand Army. Ross also went to Rathkeale College. Ross is certified by Engineering New Zealand as a CPEng and a CMEngNZ, and is also certified by Engineers Australia as a CPEng and a NER. Ross is also a member of Engineers Australia.
