Located in the Niagara Region, Ontario, the Academy began to accept students in 1978. The Academy is named after Robert Land (1736-1818), he saw action in the Battle of Louisbourg (1758) and fought with General Wolfe at the Battle of Plains of Abraham (1759). At the end of hostilities, Captain Robert Land crossed the Niagara River. It was here, after so many hardships, that the Land family settled under the British Flag of Canada. G. Scott Bowman, the Academy’s Founder, is a direct descendent of Robert Land and his wife Phobe Land. Since the Academy started in 1978 there have been numerous developments in both program and infrastructure. The Academy boasts three barracks named in tribute to famous military figures. The Academy has a multipurpose sports facility which includes a large gym, weight room, boxing room and wrestling room. In addition, the 100+ students access the school building for their academics and a mess hall for their healthy nutritious meals.
