John McCarthy has a diverse work experience spanning over 40 years. John started their career with Bristol-Myers Squibb, where they held various positions in sales and marketing management for over a decade. Subsequently, they worked at Syntex Laboratories as a Group Product Director and later joined Nycomed Amersham (now GE Healthcare) as a Vice President of Marketing and Sales. In 1997, they joined Hollister, where they served as the Vice President of North America, Vice President of Global Mother/Baby Care, and Director of Training Services. John left Hollister in 2010 to join Robertson Lowstuter as a Career Transition Coach.

From 1965 to 1969, John McCarthy attended St. Louis University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology. In 1982, they enrolled in the University of Evansville and pursued a Master of Business Administration degree in Marketing, which they completed in 1985.
