Jason Cone

Chief Public Policy Officer at Robin Hood Foundation

Jason Cone is the current Chief Public Policy Officer at the Robin Hood Foundation. Jason has previously worked as the Executive Director for Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), a global organization that provides medical aid in countries affected by conflict, natural disasters, and epidemics. Jason was responsible for leading MSF's operations, public policy advocacy, communications, and fundraising in the United States. In 2017, they achieved record-setting revenue results with $370 million in largely unrestricted funds.

Jason has also worked as a member for NationSwell, a organization that champions solutions to America’s problems and supports people making them happen. Jason was responsible for providing strategic in-country operational support to medical programs in El Salvador, Colombia, Jordan, Lebanon, Mexico, occupied Palestinian Territories, and Turkey.

In 2015, the Médecins Sans Frontières hospital in Kunduz, Afghanistan was bombed by the U.S. government, killing 42 people. As the chief spokesperson for MSF, Jason conducted dozens of high-level media interviews and public events to raise awareness about the incident. Jason also published opinion pieces in the New York Times and Time magazine.

In 2016, Jason led a public advocacy campaign against Pfizer, a pharmaceutical company that was charging too much for its pneumonia vaccine. The campaign resulted in Pfizer announcing a nearly 10-fold price cut for non-governmental organizations and the establishment of a procurement mechanism for organizations, leading

Jason Cone graduated from Franklin & Marshall College with a BA in Biology and government. Jason then went on to complete a Transnational NGO Leadership Institute at Syracuse University - Maxwell School.
