Yara Akiki

Yara Akiki is a skilled software engineer currently employed at Robinhood since July 2020, with prior experience as a software engineering intern at Apple and VSCO®. Yara's expertise includes iOS development in Swift and projects involving computer vision and haptic feedback. Additional roles include tutoring English to Syrian refugees, serving as a web development teaching assistant at UC Berkeley, and mentoring students through the Girls Who Code program. Yara has demonstrated leadership as a student body representative, Model United Nations Club president, and class president throughout high school, and has participated in various tech-related initiatives. Yara obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science from the University of California, Berkeley, and previously earned the French Baccalaureate with Highest Honors.
