Amanda R. Phillips

Amanda R. Phillips is an experienced commercial litigator with a background in accounting, technology and business. She is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Amanda is a member of the firm’s Business Litigation Group.

Amanda has a broad range of legal, financial and investigative experience, handling significant and complex business litigation, including IP, securities, bankruptcy and employment litigation. Her clients have included software companies, medical device manufacturers, large national law firms, investment managers, hedge funds, bondholders, accounting professionals, auditors, and individual officers and directors. Amanda also has significant experience working with clients under investigation by federal and state government agencies.

Before becoming a lawyer, Amanda served as a Special Agent in the U.S. Air Force Office of Special Investigations, investigating contractor fraud and allegations of felony-level criminal activity. She also has worked in counter-terrorism and protected President Clinton and other heads of state.

In addition to her practice, Amanda serves as a Hearing Officer for the Board of Bar Overseers (BBO), an independent administrative body established by the Supreme Judicial Court to investigate and evaluate complaints against attorneys in Massachusetts. She previously was a member of the MIT Club of Boston Board of Directors and currently serves on the Massachusetts Bar Association Complex Commercial Litigation Section Council.

Amanda is dedicated to serving the community. Her pro bono practice includes representing disabled veterans before the U.S. Court of Appeals for Veteran Claims, providing tax counseling to low-income and elderly taxpayers, and advising low-income pro se litigants in family court.
