Brian Smith

Brian Smith is a legal professional with extensive experience in intellectual property law and compliance. Currently serving as Senior IP Counsel at Roblox since March 2022, Brian advises on copyright and trademark matters and manages the company's trademark portfolio. Previously, Brian worked at Meta from November 2017 to February 2022 as Associate General Counsel, IP, focusing on copyright and intermediary liability for Facebook and Instagram, and contributed to the development of automated content detection tools. At Mozilla, Brian held roles as Product & Commercial Counsel and Corporate Counsel, providing legal guidance on a variety of issues, including intellectual property and privacy. Brian's career began at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP, where as an Associate, Brian advised technology and biotech companies on corporate transactions. Brian holds a JD from New York University School of Law and a degree from Bard College at Simon's Rock.
