Bob Carter

Bob Carter serves as the Associate Department Head and Senior Lecturer in the Mechanical Engineering Department at the Rochester Institute of Technology since March 2013, contributing to teaching and research. Prior experience includes a role as a Research Scientist, focusing on the development of catalytic membrane reactors using advanced fabrication methods to enhance efficiency and reduce waste. Bob Carter's industry experience spans over twelve years at General Motors, where responsibilities included leading teams in the development and testing of fuel cell technology and pioneering diagnostic techniques for fuel cell performance. Additionally, Bob Carter held management and engineering roles at Precision Combustion, Inc. in catalyst technology and reactor applications, and gained foundational experience as a Graduate Research Assistant at Cornell University. Bob Carter earned a PhD in Chemical Engineering from Cornell University and a B.S. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maine.
