Torrence Sparkman

Torrence Sparkman Ph.D. currently serves as the Assistant Provost and Assistant Vice President for Faculty Diversity and Recruitment at the Rochester Institute of Technology, a position held since July 2014. In this role, Torrence leads the Office for Faculty Diversity and Recruitment, focusing on building relationships with current and prospective faculty to advance RIT's commitment to diversity. Prior experience includes a range of academic roles at the University of Houston and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, where Torrence held positions such as Associate Professor, Visiting Associate Professor, and Program Outreach Coordinator. Torrence's educational background is anchored by a Ph.D. in Human Resource Development from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, and a Bachelor's degree in Business Management from the University of Illinois Chicago. Prior to the academic career, Torrence worked in recruitment and human resource roles at Carrington & Carrington, Ltd. and Tek Resources.
