Pierpaolo Toniato started their work experience in 2008 as an intern at the University of Padova and later at INFN. In 2012, they worked as an electrician at Toniato Impianti Elettrici. In 2013, they interned at ONERA. From 2014 to 2019, they worked at The University of Queensland, first as a PhD researcher and later as a research fellow, focusing on high Mach number scramjets testing and modeling. Their thesis showcased the successful operation of a scramjet at Mach 12. In 2019, they joined Rocket Factory Augsburg - RFA, where they worked as a propulsion development engineer and later became the head of propulsion. At Rocket Factory Augsburg, they were responsible for the development of a 10-ton LOX/Kero oxygen-rich staged combustion rocket engine, leading a team of designers and overseeing the engine's architecture and packaging.
Pierpaolo Toniato completed a general engineering program called "Ingénieurs des arts et manufactures" at CentraleSupélec from 2010 to 2012. Pierpaolo then pursued a specialized degree in Aerospace Engineering, earning a "Laurea Specialistica" from Università degli Studi di Padova between 2012 and 2014. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, known as "Laurea Triennale," from the same university from 2008 to 2012. In terms of additional certifications, Pierpaolo Toniato completed the TOEFL exam through ETS.org in 2014. Furthermore, they obtained a Certificate of Advanced English (CAE) from Cambridge University, although the exact year of completion is unknown.
