Marcela González

Marcela González has a diverse and extensive work experience spanning various roles and industries. Marcela started their career as a Brand Marketing Coordinator at EnviaFlores.com in 2012, where they were responsible for coordinating brand marketing activities. Marcela then moved on to MercadoPago.com in 2014, where they held multiple roles, including Senior Marketing Analyst, Marketing Supervisor, and ultimately Head of Marketing Mercado Pago MX. During their time at MercadoPago.com, Marcela led the marketing team and implemented local strategies to drive business growth in Mexico. In 2019, they joined American Express as a Senior Brand Manager, where they led the brand strategy for American Express services in Mexico and also played a key role in defining the company's digital capabilities and improving the digital services experience. Marcela later transitioned to the role of Head of Marketing and Communications Mexico at Beat Ride App (FREENOW ex ride-hailing app) in 2021, where they led the local marketing and PR strategy to accelerate brand awareness in Mexico and consideration in Colombia. Marcela built the social media strategy and messaging framework and worked closely with the business operations team to optimize marketing campaigns and achieve company goals. Most recently, in 2023, Marcela has held the position of VP of Marketing at both Rocket Lab | Mobile App Growth and Kivi | Connected TV.

Marcela González obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in Marketing from the EGADE Business School del Tecnológico de Monterrey, completing their studies from 2017 to 2019. Prior to their MBA, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Design from the Tecnológico de Monterrey, specializing in Product Design, from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, Marcela attended the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León's Visual Arts Faculty in 2009. Marcela also received a High School Diploma from the Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2007.
