Erwin van Drunen

Erwin van Drunen is a seasoned engineer with extensive experience in aerospace and engineering roles. Currently serving as a Principal Design Engineer at Rocket Lab since October 2013, Erwin's previous positions include Senior Vehicle Design Engineer and Rocket Vehicle Design Engineer. Erwin's academic background includes a Master of Engineering with Distinction in Biomedical Engineering and a Bachelor of Engineering with Honors in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Canterbury, along with a Bachelor of Science in Geology. Earlier professional experiences encompass roles as a Geologist at Solid Energy New Zealand Ltd, Mechanical Engineer at Martin Aircraft Company, and Student Mechanical Process Engineer at Christchurch Engine Centre. Throughout these roles, Erwin has engaged in diverse projects, including the development of patient-specific lung models for improved ventilator treatment and designing a prototype jetpack flight simulator.
