Chester Bittencourt Sacramento

Chester Bittencourt Sacramento, PhD, currently serves as Principal Scientist in Nonclinical R&D at Rocket Pharmaceuticals since March 2020. Previous experience includes roles as Instructor in Genetic Medicine and Research Associate at Weill Cornell Medicine from October 2016 to March 2020, as well as a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at MedImmune from November 2014 to October 2016. Chester completed postdoctoral research at the University of São Paulo/Heart Institute from February 2008 to September 2013. Educational credentials include a Bachelor's Degree in Biomedical Sciences with a focus on Molecular Biology and Gene Therapy from the Federal University of São Paulo (1999-2002), a Ph.D. in Basic Sciences emphasizing Gene Therapy and Angiogenesis Promoting from the same institution (2003-2007), and additional postdoctoral research in Cardiac Regeneration and induced Pluripotent Stem Cells and Cardiovascular and Metabolic Disease.
