Marie Alvarado-Gil

Marie Alvarado-Gil serves as a State Senator for the California State Senate since December 2022 and holds the position of Senior Director of External Affairs at Rocketship Education, where efforts focus on eliminating the achievement gap for socioeconomically disadvantaged students. In addition to roles at Rocketship, Marie is an ACSE Commissioner for the CA State Board of Education and serves as Vice President of the Board of Trustees at ChartHouse Public Schools, emphasizing impactful public education initiatives. Previous leadership experience includes regional roles with the Committee of Interns and Residents/SEIU Healthcare, SEIU UHW, and Community Action Partnership of Sonoma County, among others. Marie holds advanced degrees in Public Administration with a focus on Health Services Administration and Nonprofit Administration from the University of San Francisco, supplemented by educational training in charter school leadership.
