Scott has a formal background in adult education, instructional systems design, health services and qualitative research. Previous to joining Rockman, Scott was Director of Research and Development for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, the largest medical specialty association in the US. He has also worked as a Life Sciences analyst, and independent research consultant for education and environmental non-profits. While at Rockman, Scott has developed a robust and diverse client practice including science and art museums, public media, performing and visual arts organizations, and patient care and advocacy groups. Scott’s projects have ranged from studying the impact of jazz education in school classrooms to assessing efforts to support cancer patients impacted by natural disasters. Independently, Scott has also conducted case studies on the impact of eye care in developing countries including India, Bangladesh, Guatemala, and Peru. He is completing two art museum docent programs, one in San Francisco, the other in Portland, Oregon. Scott earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Literature from the University of Illinois, and a Master’s in Library Science from the University of Maryland. His personal interests include art, music, literature (poetry), tennis, and college basketball.
