Aamir Shams

Aamir Shams is a senior associate on RMI’s Climate-Aligned Industries Program. His work focuses on driving demand for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) to decarbonize the global aviation sector through the Clean Skies for Tomorrow Initiative and the Sustainable Aviation Buyers Alliance (SABA), in addition to supply-side issues in the production and distribution of SAF.

Previously, Aamir worked for the Strategy and Development team at TotalEnergies as a market analyst, where he designed near-term price and demand forecasts for the energy company’s trading desks in Houston and covered energy market trends in the Americas. He began his career as a chemical engineer with QatarEnergy’s downstream and petrochemicals division in Qatar.
