Bonnie Lei

Bonnie Lei is a Principal in the Climate Intelligence program at RMI, leading the Carbon Markets Initiative to improve transparency and equity in voluntary carbon and nature markets. Previously, Bonnie served as the Head of Environmental Justice at Microsoft, where efforts were made to integrate environmental justice into the company's sustainability initiatives and protect land through corporate commitments. As a founding member of Microsoft’s AI for Earth program, Bonnie facilitated the distribution of over 850 grants globally to leverage artificial intelligence for environmental solutions. Bonnie's earlier roles include advising on women's entrepreneurship at Goldman Sachs, conservation policy at Wildlife Conservation Society, and emerging diseases research at EcoHealth Alliance. Bonnie holds an A.B. Magna Cum Laude in Organismic and Evolutionary Biology and Global Health from Harvard University and a Master of Management in Global Affairs from Tsinghua University as a Schwarzman Scholar.
