Canyang Xie

Canyang Xie currently serves as an Associate focused on Rural decarbonization, methane mitigation, and equitable transition in China at RMI since June 2023. Prior to this role, Canyang worked on various initiatives, including leading the negotiation workstream as a Youth Mentor for the Global Alliance of Universities on Climate and serving as a Global Youth Ambassador co-organizing the Global Youth Summit on Net-Zero Future. Canyang's experience also includes research roles at Tsinghua University, involvement in climate policy at the UN Climate Change, and supporting bilateral climate negotiations as a Policy Advisor for the Ministry of Ecology and Environment in China. Canyang holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Global Environment and is pursuing a Master of Engineering in Global Environmental Leadership at Tsinghua University, complemented by a second major in Sociology.
