Peter Waack has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Peter has held various leadership roles at different organizations. Most notably, they served as the President and CEO of Rocky Mountain Student Media Corp, where they managed a team of over 250 students and helped enhance the undergraduate and graduate experience through media education. Peter also served on the Board of Directors at ArtRage Gallery and Syracuse First, and was an Advisory Board Member at Syracuse First. Peter's earlier work experience includes roles such as General Manager at The Daily Orange, Publications Associate at Project Adventure Inc., Editor and Co-Founder at Java Journal, Associate Director at Lawyers Committee on Nuclear Policy Inc., and Administrative Director at Self Advocacy. Additionally, they served on the Board of Directors for Visit Syracuse and the Syracuse Sports Corporation.
Peter Waack attended the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1984 to 1988, where they pursued a Bachelor of Science degree in Communications. Peter then went on to attend the University of Colorado from 1988 to 1991, earning a Juris Doctor (JD) degree. No specific field of study is mentioned for their JD degree.

As the student voice of Colorado State University and city of Fort Collins, Rocky Mountain Student Media Corp serves the community with five award winning, student-run media outlets: The Rocky Mountain Collegian, CSU’s daily newspaper; KCSU 90.5, a 10,000 watt fm radio station; CSU TV 11; College Avenue, a monthly lifestyle magazine; and CSU Life, a monthly news publication for faculty and staff. In addition, RMSMC has 3 video production units (Student Video Productions, Tree Stump Films and OnSpec Video Training Team). The Collegian, Colorado State University’s student-run newspaper, provides readers with campus, local, sports and entertainment news, Monday through Thursday and on Fridays during key home sports games. Collegian.com is the online center for all student media. The site features breaking news, aggregated blogs, online programming, videos and live stream television and radio. KCSU, Colorado State’s student run radio station prides itself on alternative music programming with specialty DJ programs and news updates. The 10,000 watt signal reaches devoted listeners along the Front Range from Cheyenne to Longmont. CTV, on Comcast and CSU channel 11 and streaming at Collegian.com features news, sports, talk and entertainment. SVP, Student Television Productions provides professional video production. OnSpec Video Training Team provides video editing and training to CSU students. College Avenue is a monthly lifestyle publication. Each edition features a different theme covered from a student perspective.
