Clayton Whitney has extensive work experience in the field of human resources and leadership consulting. Clayton is currently the Director of People & Culture at Rocky View County and serves as an Executive Advisor at Vital Asset Risk. Clayton also works as an Associate Faculty at Royal Roads University. In 2018, they founded Whitney EQ Inc., where they provide leadership consulting and coaching services focusing on Emotional Intelligence. Prior to that, Clayton held various roles at Alberta Health Services, including Program Director, Senior Human Resources Advisor, and HR Business Partner. Clayton also has experience in negotiations, labour and employee relations, job evaluation and compensation, and HRIS content development/training.

Clayton Whitney has a strong educational background in the field of business administration and human resources. In 2004, they earned a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and Management, specializing in Human Resources from The University of Lethbridge. Prior to that, from 1999 to 2001, they completed further studies in Business Administration and Management, specializing in Human Resources at Mount Royal University.

In 2011, Clayton pursued higher education and obtained a Master's Degree in Business Administration, specializing in Strategic Human Resources from Royal Roads University. Alongside their formal education, they also obtained a Certification in Advanced Writing from Mount Royal University in 2001.

In addition to their academic qualifications, Clayton has acquired various certifications to enhance their knowledge and skills. These certifications include being a Change Management Advanced Instructor from Prosci (obtained in February 2020), a Change Management Instructor from Prosci (obtained in June 2019), an Emotional Intelligence EQ-i 2.0/EQ 360 Certified Assessor/Coach from Multi-Health Systems Inc. (obtained in October 2018), a Certified Expert TeamCARE Trainer from Safe and Reliable Healthcare (obtained in November 2015), and a Certified Change Management Practitioner from Prosci (obtained in October 2015).

Clayton is also a member of the Human Resources Institute of Alberta (HRIA) and holds the designation of Certified Professional in Human Resources (CPHR). Additionally, they have pursued non-degree certifications, including a Certificate in Conflict Management from Alberta Arbitration and Mediation Society and a Certificate in Relationship and Strategic Partnering from Queen's University.
