Kanter Van Deurzen's work experience begins in 2009 when they worked as a Student Assistant at TU Delft. They held this position from September 2009 to January 2011. During their time at TU Delft, they also worked as a Student Assistant from January 2010 to July 2010.
In 2011, Kanter Van Deurzen became a Ph.D. Candidate at TU Delft and remained in this role until July 2014.
From 2014 to 2019, Kanter Van Deurzen joined Fizyr, a software company specializing in order picking and parcel handling, where they held various roles. They started as a Team Leader and Robot System Developer from August 2014 to December 2016. They then became the CTO of the company from December 2016 to April 2019. As CTO, they led a highly specialized development team and played a key role in pivoting the company from a small robot integrator to a successful SAAS provider. Additionally, they collaborated with the management team to redefine the business model and plan future growth steps. Following their role as CTO, Kanter Van Deurzen became a Strategic Advisor at Fizyr, starting in March 2019, a position they are expected to hold until March 2023.

Kanter Van Deurzen completed a Bachelor's degree in Human Technology at De Haagse Hogeschool / The Hague University of Applied Sciences from 2005 to 2008.
