Sebastian Engel

Sebastian Engel, Ph.D., currently serves as a Machine Learning / ML Ops Engineer at Rohde & Schwarz, starting in July 2022. Prior experience includes a role as a Technical Consultant at Fujitsu from October 2019 to June 2022, where Sebastian focused on the implementation of Ising models for various industries using quantum-inspired optimization techniques. A postdoctoral position in Mathematics and Scientific Computing was held at Technische Universität München from October 2018 to September 2019, emphasizing research in Optimal Control and Bayesian Inversion. Earlier, Sebastian gained experience at Allianz, including positions as a Working Student in Operational Risk and in Group Management Reporting / Finance Optimization, where responsibilities included statistical computing, risk model calculations, and data analysis. Sebastian holds a Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from the University of Graz and both a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Mathematics from Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München.
