Shaun Roache

Chief Asia Economist at Rokos Capital Management

Shaun Roache has extensive experience in the field of economics and macro strategy. Shaun currently holds the position of Chief Asia Economist at Rokos Capital Management since July 2021. Prior to this, they served as the Chief Economist, Asia-Pacific at S&P Global from September 2018 to July 2021. Before that, Shaun worked as a Macro strategist at Temasek from October 2015 to September 2018. Shaun also has experience working with the International Monetary Fund, where they held the positions of Resident Representative from November 2013 to October 2015 and Senior Economist from June 2004 to November 2013. Shaun has also worked as a Macro strategist at Citi from 2000 to 2004, at ING from 1996 to 2000, and as an Economist at NatWest from 1994 to 1996.

Shaun Roache completed their education in a chronological manner. Shaun began their academic journey at Queen's University Belfast from 1991 to 1994, where they earned a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Economics. Shaun then pursued a Master of Science (MSc) degree in Economics at Birkbeck, University of London from 1995 to 1997. Afterward, Shaun went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Economics from Birkbeck, University of London, which spanned from 2002 to 2007. Additionally, they obtained a certification as a Chartered Financial Analyst from the CFA Institute in September 2001.
