Thomas Materna

Thomas Materna, PhD has extensive work experience in the finance and technology sectors. Thomas is currently the Head of Mortgages Investment Quants and an Investment Quant at Rokos Capital Management, where they have been since 2020. Prior to this, they worked at Viking Global Investors as a Trading and Treasury Development Team Lead and Senior Developer from 2018 to 2020. Before that, they held various roles at Structured Portfolio Management, including Chief Technology Officer, Managing Director of Risk & Technology, Senior Vice President of Risk & Research, and Vice President of Research from 2006 to 2018. Thomas began their career as a Post-Doc at the Cyclotron Institute, Texas A&M University from 2003 to 2006.

Thomas Materna earned their Ph.D. in Nuclear Physics from the Université libre de Bruxelles, where they studied from 1999 to 2003.
