Shashank Merchant

Shashank Merchant is a seasoned professional in software engineering with extensive experience leading engineering teams across multiple companies. Currently serving as Director of Software Engineering at Roku Inc. since April 2021, Shashank previously held the position of Sr. Director of Engineering at Nielsen, where leadership of a multi-national team focused on personalized linear TV advertising was emphasized. Prior experience includes Sr. Director of Engineering at Gracenote, overseeing Automatic Content Recognition (ACR) services, and Director of Research, managing AI and Machine Learning teams. Shashank co-founded Zeitera, leading product development, engineering, and customer success from 2006 to 2015. Shashank holds a BE in Electronics Engineering from the University of Mumbai and an MS in Computer Engineering/Science from Oregon State University.
