James Lange

James Lange is a highly experienced engineering professional with a strong background in software and systems development within the aerospace sector. Currently serving as Chief Design Engineer - Controls at Rolls-Royce since January 2015, James has held multiple leadership roles, including Chief Controls Engineer and Software Capability Manager, leading teams of engineers to successfully deliver new product introduction projects. Prior to this role, James worked at Rolls-Royce Controls and Data Services as a Software Engineer from January 2010 to January 2020, focusing on developing and testing safety-critical software for airborne applications compliant with DO-178B/C Level A. James holds a Master of Science in Computer Science from Indiana University Indianapolis and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.
