Kathleen Messier has extensive experience in both archival and scientific roles. Since May 2015, Kathleen has served as the Assistant Archivist for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington. Prior to this, Kathleen held positions at Mylan Technologies, Inc. from June 1998 to June 2002 as an Assistant Chemist in Research and Development, where responsibilities included laboratory analysis of transdermal formulations and quality control using GMP testing methods. Kathleen also worked as a Synthetic Organic Chemist at Pharm Eco Labs from June 1997 to June 1998, focusing on creating reactive intermediates and analyzing products using TLC and NMR. Educational credentials include a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Saint Michael's College and pursuit of a Master of Library & Information Science with a focus on Cultural Heritage Informatics at Simmons University, expected to complete in May 2025.

The Roman Catholic Diocese of Burlington serves 110,000 Catholics located across all 14 counties in the State of Vermont, under the leadership of The Most Reverend Christopher J. Coyne. There are 36 active priests, 44 permanent deacons and 15 religious ministering in 68 parishes across the state. The diocese includes 13 Catholic schools (including St. Therese Digital Academy) and an educational system with an estimated 2,500 students. Through Vermont Catholic Charities’ social services and homes for the aged, the Diocese of Burlington assisted more than 3,000 Vermonters last year.
