Ion Foidaș

Appointed as Interim Director of Production Department in July 2021 to coordinate the hydrocarbon production activity, he has an experience of 32 years in Romgaz. During the last six years he held the position of Head of Production Management Office after holding the position of Head of Technical, Technologies Office during 2003 – 2015. Between 2001 – 2003 he held the position of Engineer within the Department for Restructuring and Privatization Management.

He has been part of Romgaz team since 1989 right after completing his higher education, when he was hired as a Drilling Engineer. He worked as an engineer within several departments of Romgaz: 1993-1998 – Engineer within the Production and Dispatch Office, 1998-2000 – Engineer within the Reservoir Engineering and Production Technology Laboratory, 2000-2001- Engineer within the Production Office, 2001-2003 – Engineer within the Department for Restructuring and Privatization Management.

Graduate of the Oil and Gas University, Ploiesti, he holds two Master’s Degrees in: Environmental Science and Petroleum Industry Management and a Doctorate Degree in Engineering Sciences in the field of Mines, Oil and Gas.

He has a vast professional experience in teaching, being a Lecturer within the Industrial Engineering and Management Department at “Lucian Blaga” University in Sibiu, Faculty of Engineering and has several qualifications, trainings and certifications relevant in the oil field.
