Chris Wysopal is the chief technology officer at CA Veracode, which provides SaaS application security to enterprises and software vendors. He oversees technology strategy, security research, and product security. Chris served on the Veracode board of directors for the 11 years it was an independent company. Veracode was acquired by CA Technologies in 2017 for $614M.
Prior to co-founding Veracode in 2006, Chris was vice president of research and development at security consultancy @stake, which was acquired by Symantec in 2004. Chris and his co-founder successfully spun out static analysis technology developed at @stake and Symantec to create Veracode.
In the 1990s, Chris was one of the original vulnerability researchers at The L0pht, a hacker think tank, where he was one of the first to publicize the risks of insecure software. He has testified to the U.S. Congress on the subjects of government security and how vulnerabilities are discovered in software.
Chris received a BS in computer and systems engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He is the author of The Art of Software Security Testing, published by Addison-Wesley.
