Jillian McKiernan has a well-rounded work experience with diverse roles in various organizations. Jillian started their career as an Editor at "It's About Time" in December 2006. In this role, they proofread, copy edited, and prepared manuscripts for math and science textbooks. Jillian also conducted research, interviews, and wrote features highlighting math and science careers. In addition, they researched and wrote specifications for art within the texts. After serving as an Assistant Editor at the same company for a few months, they moved on to become the La Palestra Kids Program Director at LA PALESTRA in April 2013. Jillian held this position until August 2017. Following that, they worked as a Certified Zumba Instructor at Zumba Fitness LLC starting from May 2011. Currently, Jillian is the Assistant Director of Wellness & Family Rooms at Ronald McDonald House New York, a position they have held since August 2017.

Jillian McKiernan attended Fordham University from 2001 to 2005, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English.

Ronald McDonald House New York provides temporary housing for pediatric cancer patients and their families in a strong, supportive and caring environment which encourages and nurtures the development of child-to-child and parent-to-parent support systems. Ronald McDonald House New York is the largest facility of its type in the world. The House can accommodate 95 families, and it is filled to capacity almost every night. The House’s location in Manhattan, in close proximity to 16 major cancer treatment centers, draws children and families from across the country and the world, as well as from the metropolitan New York City area. Since its founding, more than 35,000 families have stayed at Ronald McDonald House New York.
