Aron Sousa, MD, FACP, is the current Dean of the College of Human Medicine (CHM) at Michigan State University (MSU). He has a 30-year career at MSU, leading transformative initiatives in medical education, research, and community health. He expanded clinical and community campuses across Michigan and strengthened partnerships with health systems and communities. His most transformative project includes public health initiatives in Flint, Michigan, where he was a principal investigator on $37 million in grants to establish a downtown campus, expand public health research, and create the Charles Stewart Mott Department of Public Health, which has brought in over $200 million in external funding. He is a practicing general internist and executive dean for MSU Health Colleges. He earned his medical degree from Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his residency, chief residency, and fellowship in primary care internal medicine at MSU. He is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians.
