Lauren Mehta

Lauren Mehta is the General Counsel at RoseHealth. Lauren was previously the Associate General Counsel at United Soccer Leagues LLC (USL) from February 2018 to December 2020. During their time at USL, they drafted and implemented detailed COVID-19 protocols supporting USL Championship's successful effort to continue operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, through close consultation with ownership groups and a task force of nationally renowned medical professionals.

Mehta has also handled complex commercial and media transactions, including multi-year broadcast and production contracts, commercial product licensing agreements, and sponsorship agreements. Lauren has provided best practices and advice to USL and to USL's franchised clubs on a wide array of legal issues. In addition, they created a multi-employer bargaining unit of 36 clubs, which recognized the inaugural USL Players' Association. On behalf of the association, they negotiated with the USL Players' Association for an initial collective bargaining agreement governing working conditions of 1,000+ players.

Lauren has also advised USL regarding the establishment USL League One, a new men's outdoor professional soccer league which played its first matches in February 2019 and which continues to expand, by conducting due diligence of ownership groups and negotiating franchise agreements and associated documents. Mehta has handled dozens of complex transactions involving stadium construction and renovation, franchise sales, and franchise relocation.

Lauren Mehta graduated from Rice University with a BA in Political Science and Government. Lauren then attended Duke University School of Law, where they earned their JD. Lauren also took some general courses in legal studies at The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE).
