Alan Chiu

Alan Chiu serves as the Samuel F. Hulbert Endowed Chair and Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology since 2012, having previously held the position of Associate Professor of Biology and Biomedical Engineering and co-director of the Independent Projects/Research Opportunities Program. Chiu has been active with ABET since 2016 as a BMES EAC Commissioner and Program Evaluator. Prior to joining Rose-Hulman, Chiu was an Assistant Professor of Biomedical Engineering at Louisiana Tech University from 2006 to 2012. Educational qualifications include a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Toronto, completed in 2006, a Master of Applied Science in the same field from the University of Toronto, earned in 2002, and a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science from the University of Toronto, obtained in 2000.
