Karim Shaaban has a diverse range of work experience, starting with their current role as the Co-founder and CEO of Rosetta Energy since May 2021. Prior to this, they served as a Board Member for Al Rayat Investment and Development since June 2008.

From March 2018 to May 2021, they served as the Global EPC Manager EMEA & APAC, playing a key role in managing Shell's capital spend and contracting strategy for projects in those regions. In their role as a Project Manager for the Nigeria LNG Train 7 from January 2017 to March 2018, they successfully managed the project.
Additionally, Karim Shaaban held the position of Projects Manager - LNG/GTL New Business Development from July 2012 to December 2016. In this role, they led LNG and GTL developments across different continents.
Prior to their roles at Shell, they served as the Lead Projects Engineer for Bapetco in the western desert, managing engineering, procurement, and construction activities for various projects from May 2008 to June 2012. Karim also worked as a Mechanical Engineer from May 2008 to May 2009.
Karim Shaaban has a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with Distinction from the London Business School, which they completed from 2014 to 2016. Prior to this, they pursued a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with High Honors at The American University in Cairo from 2003 to 2008. Furthermore, they completed their IGCSE at El Alsson British & Int'l School, although the start and end years are not specified.
