Technical Product Manager - Virtualized Switcher at Ross Video

Luc Martel has a diverse work experience in the technology industry. Luc started their career at Atsana Semiconductor in 2000 as a Senior Software Developer, where they focused on architecture and development of video CODECs on Atsana's proprietary SIMD architecture. Luc also worked on developing the OS abstraction layer for Nucleus and Android platforms.

In 2005, Luc joined MtekVision (now NXP) as the Manager of Video Codecs Development. Here, they managed and led the development of optimized video codecs, image processing, and 2D-3D graphics libraries on MtekVision's Maple processors line. Luc was involved in architecture and design activities, as well as performance analysis for next-generation products.

In 2009, Luc moved to CogniVue Corporation as the Director of Technology. Here, they were responsible for the technology roadmap of CogniVue's Image Cognition Processor series, including the APEX-C programming language and APEX Core Framework. Luc also developed partnerships with universities and research centers through various programs.

Luc joined Irdeto in 2012 as a Senior Solution Architect. Luc then progressed to become a Principal Software Engineer, where they were a leader in the development of Irdeto's cloud-based collusion-resistant session-based watermarking solution for OTT video delivery. Additionally, they planned and executed the move to Kubernetes for Irdeto's LSA product.

Currently, Luc works at Ross Video as a Technical Product Manager - Virtualized Switcher, starting in 2022.

Throughout their career, Luc Martel has gained experience in various technologies and has consistently taken on roles with increasing responsibilities and leadership opportunities.

Luc Martel obtained a Ph.D. in Computer Engineering (Image/Video Segmentation) from Université Laval between 1997 and 2000. Prior to that, they received a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same university from 1995 to 1997. In addition to their formal education, Luc Martel also obtained certifications in Software Security from Coursera in June 2014 and in Cryptography 1 from Coursera in January 2013.
