Florence Symington has a diverse work experience that spans across various industries. Florence started their career as a Residential Support Worker at Manchester City Council, where they provided support to children aged 12-18 in a residential children's home. Florence then joined The Co-operative Group, where they held roles such as Range Strategy Manager and Secondment Project Manager, responsible for setting and articulating strategy for the company's own brand products.

After their time at The Co-operative Group, Florence joined Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc as a Senior Brand Manager, overseeing the strategic development and relaunch of Morrison's Market Street own brand product ranges. Florence later became the Head of Corporate Brand, responsible for brand development and strategy across all customer touch-points.

Following their career at Wm Morrison Supermarkets Plc, Florence took a career break due to an Epilepsy diagnosis, during which they focused on being a full-time mother to their toddler. After their career break, they joined Eureka! The National Children's Museum, where they held the roles of Head of Marketing and later Head of Brand & Marketing. In these roles, they developed and implemented digital-first marketing strategies, conducted audience research, and spearheaded visitor-focused marketing campaigns.

Most recently, Florence has been employed at the Royal Armouries Museum, where they started as the Head of Marketing & Communications. Florence then assumed the role of Interim Director of Brand & Audiences before ultimately becoming the Director of Brand & Audiences, overseeing audience-focused management of the museum's brand and all marketing and communications activities.

Throughout their career, Florence has demonstrated a strategic focus, data-driven decision-making, and an ability to lead and manage teams.

Florence Symington earned a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Philosophy from Durham University between 2000 and 2003. Florence later pursued a CIM Diploma in Professional Marketing at the Oxford College of Marketing, which they completed from 2018 to 2020.
