Martyn Lawrence

Martyn Lawrence is a seasoned publishing professional with extensive experience in managing publishing programs and training within the academic sector. Currently serving as Publishing Manager at Royal Armouries Museum since May 2016, Martyn oversees the publication of illustrated non-fiction titles across multiple sites. As an Associate Trainer at ThinkWrite, Martyn delivers seminars on journal publishing to enhance the publishing prospects of postgraduates and faculty. A member of the Board at the Baltic Management Development Association since 2010, Martyn contributes to organizational policy and member development. Previously, as a Publisher at Emerald Group Publishing Limited, responsibilities included strategic development and fostering relationships with academics and learned societies. Martyn has also worked as a freelance proofreader on academic monographs. Martyn holds a PhD in History from the University of York and an MBA from the University of Bradford, along with other degrees in history from the University of York and the University of Leicester.
