Arno van Smeden

Arno van Smeden has extensive experience in talent acquisition and recruitment. Arno currently works at Royal HaskoningDHV as the Global Lead Recruiter for Digital, Mobility & Environment Consultants. In this role, they oversee the entire recruitment process for the business line Digital and the business unit Mobility & Environment Consultants, focusing on digital, IT, data, engineering, corporate, executive/c-level, mobility, and environment consultant roles.

Before this, Arno worked as a Global Recruitment Specialist at Royal HaskoningDHV, where they were responsible for global recruitment activities in engineering, digital, IT, strategic, project management, and technical sales positions. Arno also provided temporary recruitment coverage for the APAC region and co-created a digital talent development program for young professionals.

Prior to their time at Royal HaskoningDHV, Arno owned and contracted for De AdviesSmederij, where they specialized in talent acquisition, intervention, and change. Arno was also involved in coaching young professionals and managing teams.

Arno also has experience in recruitment within the education sector, having worked as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at HU University of Applied Sciences Utrecht. In this role, they coordinated internal and external recruitment for a wide range of positions, focusing on educational domains such as ICT, Engineering & Design, Finance & Accounting, HRM, and International Business Studies & Communication.

Earlier in their career, Arno worked as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist at Hewlett Packard Enterprise and HP, where they were responsible for recruitment coordination from entry to senior management positions across all job functions.

Before transitioning into talent acquisition and recruitment, Arno worked in various HR roles, including as a Team Lead Recruitment at TWIT b.v. and as an HRM Consultant at ProRail. Arno also gained experience as an Outdoor Training Instructor at Outing Holland and as an HRM-Professional at Intertwine.

Arno van Smeden completed a Master's degree in Culture, Organization & Management with a specialization in Change & Intervention from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam (VU Amsterdam) from 2006 to 2009. In 2004 to 2005, they received certification from Academy Counselling & Coaching as a Coach. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Human Resource Management from Saxion University of Applied Sciences from 1999 to 2003.
