Murray Pollock

Murray Pollock serves as a Professor of Statistics and Data Science at Newcastle University since 2020, holding multiple leadership roles including Academic Director for Data and Digital Technologies and former Director of Statistics and Data Science. In addition to these responsibilities, Murray leads the Centre for Doctoral Training in Cloud Computing for Big Data and has contributed as a Senior Lecturer at Université Paris Dauphine - PSL, a Visiting Professor at the Royal Statistical Society, and a Trustee at the University of Warwick. Earlier experience includes a role as Lead European Modelling Actuary at Cigna and a Turing Fellow at The Alan Turing Institute, where Murray also acted as Principal Investigator on a significant project. Academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Warwick and an undergraduate degree in Actuarial Mathematics and Statistics from Heriot-Watt University.
