Gill Thompson has extensive experience in urban design and community planning, with a career spanning several decades. Currently, Gill Thompson serves as a Community Planning Volunteer with Planning Aid since 2006 while enjoying retirement since January 2020. Previous roles include Capital Programme Manager (Housing) and Senior Project Manager at Brighton & Hove City Council from 1991 to 2020, overseeing significant housing improvements and local park projects. Gill Thompson also operated as a freelance Consultant at Gill Thompson Urban Design & Planning and held earlier positions as an Architectural Assistant and worker, gaining valuable insights into housing rehabilitation and design. Educational qualifications include a Master’s degree in Urban Design from the University of Westminster and a BA in Architecture from The University of Sheffield. Gill Thompson's background combines practical experience with a strong commitment to community-focused urban development.
