Previously, Malcolm Chalmers held the position of Professor at King's College London and was a Special Advisor at the Foreign and Commonwealth Office. With a long-standing academic career, Malcolm Chalmers was a Professor of International Politics at the University of Bradford from 1985 to 2007. Educational qualifications include a degree in Economics from the University of Cambridge and advanced studies in War Studies at King's College London.
