Christine Durand

Christine Durand has a diverse range of work experience in the healthcare field. Christine started their career as a Registered Nurse at Health Sciences North/Horizon Santé-Nord in 2011. Christine then worked as a Critical Care Registered Nurse at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre from 2012 to 2017. During their time at Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre, they also served as a Patient Relations Coordinator and an Interim Manager for the Respiratory Inpatient Unit. In 2013, they briefly worked as an Organ and Tissue Donation Coordinator at Trillium Gift of Life Network. Later, they returned to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre as a Quality Improvement & Patient Experience Consultant and an Interim Manager for Quality, Patient Safety & Patient Relations. Currently, they hold the position of Regional Director for Risk Management & Patient Safety.

Christine Durand has a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Ryerson University, which they completed between 2006 and 2011. Christine also holds a Certificate in Critical Care Nursing from Georgian College, which they obtained in 2012-2013. In 2015-2017, they pursued a Certificate in Advanced Leadership & Management in Nursing from The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Toronto Metropolitan University. Christine is currently studying for a Master of Nursing degree in Nursing Leadership at Athabasca University, which they started in 2018 and is expected to complete in 2022. Additionally, they have obtained several certifications, including Certificate of Quality and Patient Safety from IHI and IDEAS Foundations of Quality Improvement Certificate from Health Quality Ontario (HQO) in 2022, a Change Management Practitioner certification from APMG International in 2020, and a Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certification from McGill University - Desautels Faculty of Management in 2019.
