Previously, Dr. De Souza held various management positions at companies including Biodel, Neurocrine Biosciences, Synaptic Pharmaceutical Corp, and Sanofi. Dr. De Souza serves or has served on several editorial boards and National Institutes of Health committees as well as on the board of directors of several private and public companies. Dr. De Souza has a BA in physiology from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. in neuroendocrinology from the University of Toronto and was a postdoctoral fellow in neuroscience at The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine.
