David Howell

David Howell has extensive work experience in risk management, audit, and insurance within the insurance industry. David started their career in 1995 as an Environmental Scientist at DG Environmental before moving on to Symonds Group Ltd as a Contaminated Land Engineer in 1996. In 1998, they joined Independent Insurance Ltd as an Environmental Controller.

Since 2001, Howell has held various roles at RSA, a multinational insurance company. David'sroles at RSA include Chief Risk Officer (CRO), Chief Auditor UK & International, Chief Auditor, GCC, UK & International, UK & International Chief Auditor, and Group Insurance Risk & Technical Assurance Director. In these roles, they were responsible for managing insurance risk, developing risk management frameworks, overseeing technical assurance processes, and reporting to senior management and board committees.

Howell also served as the Global Head of Underwriting, Claims, and Reinsurance Audit at RSA, where they were responsible for delivering the internal audit plan and identifying emerging insurance risks on a global level. Prior to that, they worked as the Centre of Excellence Manager, Underwriting & Claims, and as a Technical Capability Leader at RSA.

Throughout their work experience, Howell has demonstrated expertise in insurance risk management, technical assurance, internal audit, and stakeholder management. David has a strong background in the insurance industry and a proven track record of successfully managing risk and delivering effective audit plans.

David Howell completed their education at various institutions. David obtained a Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in Applied Geochemistry from the University of Greenwich in 1994. Afterwards, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Environmental Biogeochemistry from Newcastle University in 1996. Subsequently, they attended De Montfort University, where they obtained a Master of Laws degree specializing in Environmental Law in 2000.
