Nigel Carpenter

Nigel Carpenter has extensive experience in the insurance industry, with a focus on actuarial and statistical analysis. Nigel worked at RSA from 2007 to the present, where they served as the Chief Data Scientist, leading a team of Data Scientists in utilizing machine learning and big data to revolutionize insurance pricing. Prior to RSA, Nigel held senior management positions at Aviva and Aviva Singapore, where they oversaw actuarial functions and provided strategic advice on reserving, pricing, and risk management. Nigel also worked at Norwich Union as an Actuarial Manager and Analyst, responsible for reserving and profitability reporting for various lines of business. Nigel's expertise in data analysis and pricing techniques has earned him multiple awards for technical innovation in the insurance industry.

Nigel Carpenter obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from the University of Nottingham, where they studied from 1988 to 1991. Nigel also holds several additional certifications in various topics related to artificial intelligence, machine learning, and deep learning, which they obtained from Coursera in 2017, 2018, and 2019.
