Peter Townsend

Peter Townsend currently serves as the Chief Compliance Officer for RSA UK & International, part of the Intact Group, overseeing compliance functions such as Compliance Advisory, Regulatory Affairs, Compliance Assurance, Data Protection, and Financial Crime. Townsend has held various leadership roles in financial crime and data protection within RSA since 2012, including positions as Group Head of Financial Crime and Group Data Protection Officer. Prior experience includes significant legal roles at Berwin Leighton Paisner, Halliwells LLP, Lewis Silkin, and Clifford Chance, focusing on corporate law and governance. Peter Townsend holds a 2:1 degree in Modern History from the University of Oxford and completed legal studies at the College of Law in London.
