Amar Jethwa, CPA, CA, has a strong background in risk management and independence. They are currently serving as the Senior Director - National Risk Management and Independence at RSM Canada since January 2021. Prior to that, they worked at BDO Canada LLP for over 12 years, where they held the position of Senior Manager, National Risk Management. They have also gained experience as a Senior Accountant at KPMG Canada, where they worked from May 2004 to February 2008. During their time at KPMG, they worked with various clients, including Reporting Issuer clients, performed pension audits, reviewed financial statements, and prepared personal and corporate tax returns.

Amar Jethwa CPA, CA has a diverse education history spanning several institutions and fields of study. In 1996, they obtained a Master of Science (MSc) degree in International Management from Oxford Brookes University. Following this, between 2001 and 2003, they pursued Continuing Education in Accounting and Finance at both Ryerson University and the University of Waterloo. In 1992, Amar Jethwa completed a BA (Hons) degree in Law, Accounting, and Finance, also from Oxford Brookes University. Additionally, in 2009, they acquired a certification from Chartered Professional Accountants of Canada (CPA Canada). Most recently, in 2021, they received a Certificate in COSO Enterprise Risk Management from the Association of International Certified Professional Accountants.
