Leena Ghosh has extensive experience in human rights and legal advisory roles. Leena is currently serving as the Head of Human Rights and Social Standards at the Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO). Prior to this, they worked as a Senior Legal Advisor in Myanmar and as a Senior Peace Advisor at the National Reconciliation and Peace Centre in Myanmar and MOSC. Leena also held the position of Head of Unit ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights at The ASEAN Secretariat, where they coordinated and facilitated human rights initiatives within ASEAN. Leena has also worked as an Assistant Advisor for Multilateral Affairs in Asia at the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and served as the Head of Legal Division at the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (SUHAKAM). Throughout their career, Leena has demonstrated their expertise in legal matters, human rights research, and advisory roles.

Leena Ghosh holds a Master of Laws (LLM) degree in Law and Human Rights. Leena obtained this degree from the University of Leeds, University of Essex, and University of Exeter, although the exact duration of their education and specific order of attending these institutions are not provided.

The Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil (RSPO) is a global partnership to make palm oil sustainable. Formed in 2004, the RSPO is a multi-stakeholder non-profit organisation that unites members from across the palm oil value chain, including: ➡ Oil palm producers ➡ Palm oil processors or traders ➡ Consumer goods manufacturers ➡ Retailers ➡ Banks and investors ➡ Environmental or nature conservation non-governmental organisations (NGOs) ➡ Social or developmental NGOs As a partnership for progress and positive impact, the RSPO facilitates global change to make the production and consumption of palm oil sustainable. To inspire change, we communicate the environmental and social benefits. To make progress, we catalyse collaboration. To provide assurance, we set the standards of certification. The RSPO is registered as an international association in Zurich, Switzerland, with offices in Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Colombia, Netherlands, United Kingdom and the United States.
