Luis Martinez has a diverse work experience in the food and beverage industry. Luis started their career as an intern at Tyson Foods, where they gained knowledge about the poultry supply chain. Luis then worked as a Food Scientist at Darifair Foods LLC, where they developed innovative dairy products and ingredients. Luis later joined The Coca-Cola Company as an Associate Food Scientist, where they developed beverage products for food service clients. Luis also held various roles at Rubix Foods, including Innovation Manager and Director of Research and Development, where they led innovation initiatives and worked on product commercialization. Additionally, Luis served as a board member and Suppliers Night Chair at IFT Florida, contributing to the organization's growth and supporting scholarships for Food Science students. Prior to their career in industry, they worked as a Teaching Assistant and Research Assistant at the University of Florida.
Luis Martinez obtained a B.S. in Food Science from the University of Florida in 2005, followed by an M.S. in Food Science with a Minor in Agribusiness Management from the same university in 2007. Prior to their studies at the University of Florida, they earned a degree in Food Engineering from Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral in 2005. In terms of certifications, Luis Martinez obtained a Project Management Certification from Kepner-Tregoe in 2013, a Dairy HACCP Certification from Randolf and Associates in 2010, and has additional certifications in Food Safety and HACCP.
