Sophora Acheson

Sophora Acheson, MA, LMFT, currently serves as the Executive Director and CEO of Ruby's Place Inc., where visionary leadership is provided to a diverse team overseeing various operational aspects for underserved populations since May 2018. Previously, Acheson held the position of Chief Operating Officer at the same organization from October 2016 to May 2018, where efforts were made to establish the Bay Area as a hub for services for victims of exploitation. Acheson also has substantial experience as the Director of Social Services at Abode Services and as the Director of Operations and Programs at Emergency Shelter Program Inc., focusing on multi-departmental optimization and program innovation. Acheson holds a Master's degree in Psychology with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy/Counseling and a Bachelor's degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Justice, both from Chapman University.
